I was excited to be selected by Camron PR to be involved in a new initiative by 100% Design at London Design Festival 2019 called Insta-Interiors. I was asked to select nine images (below) from my Instagram account @annamackiestylist and then choose one of these to create a physical set. Along with five other interiors creatives I was given a space in which to exhibit my ‘instagrammable interior’.
Taking inspiration from an image I styled for interiors website Artists & Objects (below) I pulled out certain elements to display in the physical exhibition space and developed the focus on materials, texture and form. I wanted to make the installation relevant to a 3D environment by creating more depth and juxtaposing both objects and materials. It was important not to create waste so I used set pieces and props from past work, as well as vintage and found objects and pieces that I intend to reuse and keep.
